I completed a diagnostic service call on a Trane heat pump. I found the dual capacitor to be out of spec. I determined that due to the age and condition of the unit that it may be best to replace the unit. I went over options with the customer and the customer has opted to have an installation scheduled.

performed a tune-up and safety check-up for a AC unit. System was only getting a 12 degree cooling split. I added 1 lbs of r410a. The cooling split is now 18 degrees. All system checks are good.

Upon arrival I completed diagnostics and found the stat was showing system in heating mode however no voltage at furnace board. The system did not have common wire. I removed stat and charged with usb: let charge for 20 mins and reinstalled. I restarted the system. The system is again operational. Advised customer once it warmed up to pull stat off and let it charge more. The system is operational and heating upon departure. I recommend replacing stat with eco bee.

I completed a diagnostic on a electric furnace that was shutting on and off. Upon arrival I discovered that there was no voltage at the furnace board. I removed the t-sat to charge it for 20 minutes then reinstalled it. System was operational and heating at the time of departure. Recommended the customer replace thermostat with a eco bee.
